CHERRY SPONSOR: Rawya Mansour

As a younger woman her target was to make beautiful homes. Rawya Mansour launched Ramsco in 1999 where she immediately installed her creative discipline, passion and inspiration with her team of highly skilled engineers and craftsmen. She has now decided to adopt a different approach to helping others. Instead of designing and furnishing luxurious houses she has chosen to beautify the environment and help the less privileged improve their own homes. Today Ramsco is regarded world-wide as a leading house of interior design. Furniture design is another face to Rawya's work. Many of her pieces show a strong interest in classical forms from Europe, but others are a re-interpretation of different cultural traditions. In particular she has been influenced by the graceful lines of pharaonic furniture.

Rawya Mansour's ambition was not bound by her own interests in interior design and architecture on the contrary her interest was more profound in a sense that ultimate perfection always belongs to God's creation "nature". Rawya Mansour has a strong belief that the well being of man kind starts from the well being of our environment.

In light of that belief Mrs. Rawya Mansour initiated a study as an attempt to improve the quality of life for the Egyptian society plus seeking new methods to improve its surrounding environment and reduce inflation by increasing supply of food products; thus, eradicating poverty.

IT Synergy
   making it work together

IT Synergy team of consultants is familiar with the language of technology customized for the local reality, needs and solutions. We have extensive experience in needs assessment, formulation, implementation, evaluation and training/capacity building for ICT4D projects in the field of State Modernization, E-Government, ICT for Education, Open Source, Security Systems, Web and Internet based solutions, Voice over IP and Computer Telephony, Database Design and Management, Geographical Information Systems and Modeling and E-Learning, just to mention a few.
Our core business revolves around the concept of partnership; we are active participants in the business of determining tomorrow's prevalent technologies, and we firmly believe in the marriage of the enterprise and the state of the art in technology. We have unique insight into both worlds and our vision is, as our company name, SYNERGY.

Large-scale project planning and implementation, one could say, is IT Synergy's genetic heritage. Information technology forms a solid core of many initiatives today; project formulation is our core competency. Management complexity increases in geometric progression at a pace which outstrips project growth; we apply technology to project formulations and monitoring/assessment initiatives.
We have worked intensively with SMEs as well as with International Organizations such UNIDO, UNDP and the Mediterranean Agroeconomic Institute and with the Italian Cooperation in Traceability related projects, adding some unique components: the integration with GIS - Geographical Information Systems and the ability to provide rich information to the end customer, establishing an element of “fair-trade” and South-North dialogue. We have implemented Geo-traceability projects in many emerging countries and in Italy. The National Traceability System – NATS – implemented by the Egyptian government, has been the latest success of implementing our approach on a national scale.

To ensure sustainability and replicability of the E-Trace initiative, UNIDO has chosen IT Synergy to implement an E-Learning platform based on Open Source technology.
